Watching the Grass Grow
Updated: May 23
Our last update in October provided an optimistic outlook on a Spring 2020 opening. Unfortunately, mother nature and other factors outside of our control get in the way time to time. As a result, we are taking our time and ensuring that we are exactly where we need to be when we open.
The past few months at our complex have been a process of literally watching the grass grow. Fields 1 and 2 have grown in quite nicely. The Bermuda grass is strong and we are expecting these fields to be in excellent condition very soon. Fields 3, 4, 5, and 6 did not have a strong fall season. We look forward to watching these four fields blossom and strengthen over the summer. Finally, fields 7 and 8 will seeded and ready for a strong Spring and Summer grow season. As always, we would like to thank the O'Neill family for their expertise and hard work in helping getting our fields in top playing condition.
If you drive by our facility you will notice some physical changes as well. This Spring we have been able to pour the curbing for our facility and expect to be paving the road and parking lot within our complex shortly.
The progress to Sandhill Fields will become very noticeable when we begin to construct our vertical buildings over the next few weeks and months.
We are looking forward to our Grand Opening in September. In the meantime, please stay safe and stay at home during these unprecedented times. Thank you
Sandhill Fields will be open for play in September 2020.

The cross-country course will begin in the middle of the complex and racers will head into the woods for a large portion of the course. This shot depicts what will eventually be an opening in the tree line.

Construction equipment from Bobby Horsey & Sons continue site work at Sandhill Fields.
Cement has been poured for our curbing.
The circle along our main entrance will be a wonderful location for food trucks and even a vendors village during events.
We would like to thank Sposato Irrigation for all of their hard work in getting our fields ready for play.
Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the United States. This will be the eventual location of our pickleball courts and pavilions.
